Halloween DecoratingAs you can see, the spiders were busy today. They must know that there are not many days left before the big Hall-O-Green Kids Costume Exchange Party on Saturday. Luckily they take their jobs seriously as they play an important role in the Halloween theme.  If you do not have spiders at your house – you should try the Dollar Store for webs. Nothing spooks up a house easier and faster than a few packages of spider web. Best of all even the youngest little ones can have a frightfully fun time helping.  So spread the web. Boo!

International Sleep Like a Pirate Day was a rockn’ good time for all of the folks not glued to their football games and joined us at Totally Kids. Our staff was happy and some then not so happy with final football scores. Stephanie and Nick, our Packers fans left smiling, but the rest of us who are Viking’s fans felt that our cheering skills need improvement. Hey, come on guys, let’s blame the loss on Devon, our sales team manager, who claims if she sits a certain way, or wears specific attire the team will win. What happened Devon?

Along with all of the Halloween decorations being added every day, some very cute kids Halloween costumes are ready for little trick or treaters. We learned this weekend that some of little our guests did not like all of the ghosts and goblins that have been appearing around the store. The kids explained to us that they were afraid that the ghouls would make sudden unexpected movements or talk. None of the Totally Kids ghouls have ever been known to do that during the day. At night, when no one is looking, that could be another matter.

Cobwebs and creepy spiders are appearing in corners and on doorways. Scary! We’ll show you tomorrow.

Halloween Decorations Over Pirate Ship Bunk Beds Avast: Lily-livered landlubbers – this vessels for me hearties, not for none of you.

Costume Exchange Party at Totally KidsArrr! Two messy little pirates left their hats on the bottom bunk. Maybe they were frightened away by the bones under the bottom bunk.

Here are some Eco-Friendly Halloween Craft Ideas for Kids, How to Have a Green Halloween.

A free preschool storytime is presented every Saturday from 1PM to 1:30PM at          Totally Kids fun furniture and toys in Bloomington, Minnesota. Preschoolers pull  up a little chair or snuggle in a comfy bean bag while enjoying juice and cookies as  they listen to stories read from Classic Little Golden Books. It is great seeing the generations connect. Grandmas love sharing how they saved up their 25 pennies back in the 50’s and 60’s to purchase a favorite Little Golden Book, such as: The Poky Little Puppy, Bambi, The Little Red Hen or Doctor Dan or Doctor Dan the Bandage Man.”  Storytime Saturdays is offered to all preschoolers with adult supervision.  Totally Kids fun furniture and toys is located one mile from the Mall of America. Preregistration is not required. For addition information please call 952-881-2425 or visit http://www.shoptoallykids.com.

Today was bunk bed shopping for eight year old Isabella and  her sister Gabby who is four. Isabella had a so many favorites and wanted her picture taken with all of them. Someone lacked skills with a camera, so these are the only pictures that somewhat turned out.

The girls  instantly made themselves at home on the purple fold out sofa tucked under “their” house. A second full or twin size bed can be added under the house for sisters or sleepover friends. Many folks prefer using the sofa instead of a bed. It provides a cozy spot to chill and then flips open to a bed for young overnight guests. I say young – not a bed to put Grandma or Aunts on.

What good little sisters, they did not want their new baby brother Juan left out. So four month old Juan got his picture taken in a comfy denim bean bag.

The girls explored the store from front to back and back to front while  Mom and Dad made their  final bunk bed decision.  They selected the Murphy twin over full bunk bed which includes under bed storage drawers at a bargain price.

If you would like to be a star on our blog, ask for Lisa and she will capture you with some of your favorites at Totally Kids fun furniture & toys. All stars receive a $5.00 Gift Card for a toy of their choice.

Here is why you should ask for Lisa. Some folks lack camera skills. Isabela looked so cute under the Dixie Loft – sorry Isabela. For now, I will keep practicing with the camera. What I just don’t get is how folks with camera phones get such clear crisp pictures? The really BAD pictures were taken with a fancy dancy camera, not a point and shoot. It even has a huge lens and goes click, click, click really fast like the real deal. Stay tuned……. I promise that I will improve.

Summer is behind us, thank goodness there is Halloween to help us transition before we rush into Christmas. Start early, don’t try and do it all at once – make it a family affair involving the kids. This year we invited birds in to perch on our tree. Time will tell what else adorns the tree as the days lead up to Halloween. If the picture was better you could spot that one bird that insists on hanging upside down.
