Yesterday was National Ice Cream Day. Hopefully you enjoyed a cone or refreshing sundae on Sunday.
With today’s heat index of 115 F., what a perfect day to cool off making homemade ice cream with the kiddos.
You simply add ice and rock salt to the cooling chamber, add the ice cream ingredients inside the ball, close it up. Then have ball with the ball, shaking and rolling it around for 30 minutes, and, voila, you’ve played your way to a pint of delicious ice cream!
It takes the mystery out of mass-produced foods and gadgets while proving you really can make something from scratch. Its sort of a cross between a science experiment and a cooking lesson, the Ice Cream Ball is a great family activity with fabulous rewards waiting at the end!
Green too, making ice cream the old fashioned way there is no need for electricity.
